CVE (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures)
A public, standardised identifier assigned to a specific known security vulnerability.

CVE is a system of unique identifiers, such as CVE-2024-12345, that name individual publicly disclosed vulnerabilities. The shared reference lets vendors, researchers, and tools all talk about the same flaw without ambiguity.
CVE entries describe the affected products and the nature of the weakness. They are commonly paired with a CVSS score that rates severity.
