Business Continuity Plan (BCP)

The documented procedures that guide an organization in responding to a disruption and continuing or recovering critical activities.

A Business Continuity Plan is the practical playbook for keeping critical activities running, or restoring them, during a disruption. It names roles, communication paths, recovery steps, and the resources needed.

A plan is only credible once it has been exercised. Regular tests and drills reveal gaps and keep the plan aligned with how the organization actually works.

Terms matter when they become defensible work.
